Rice cakes..mmmmmm...

Songpyeon
Oh yes! We are one vacation and it is so nice! We are getting to sleep in and stay up late! Whoot!
Actually today we found a 1,000-3,000 won store a town over, ate at TGIF and made it home safe on the bus but nearly melted from tarential downpours! Wasn't exactly the most restful day but all the same we are on holiday!
We are on this lovely vacation because of Chuseok! Zachary has already filled you in on some Chuseok history.

Happy Chuseok!!!!

Heather's Kindergarden Class

So here we are 4 weeks into our life in South Korea and we come to a major holiday, Chuseok. This holiday is considered the Korean Thanksgiving. The festival is celebrated on September 20 of every year. As I have seen and read, it seems that this festival is dedicated to the gods and ancestors of these people. Usually the family will gather together at their parents or grandparents house to celebrate together.

Daily Schedule

We are both still trying to figure out this blog thing..so be patient with us. I am fairly confident that eventually we will have an awesome blog! :)
A lot of people have been asking about what our days look like here in the Land of the Morning Calm..
This is Our USUAL schedule:
5:50 am
Alarm goes off. I am usually very grumpy and open the window next to the bed to see if it is raining. (It usually is not--which means that we have no excuse to not wake up and run) I get up and Zachary  shortly follows (now convinced that we are actually getting up because he was hoping I would lay back down---even though if I did he would still be up by 6:30 am anyways)
6:15 am
Meet Sally, our coworker who has started running with us down stairs in front of the park for our morning run. (she is great motivation to get up-her standing down there waiting for us keeps us accountable)
6:15 am- 7:15 am
Run down the river and use the work out equipment at the park. (pictures and explanation to come)
